Introduction:

DTMF Mobile controlled ROBOT is controlled with a mobile. In this project, the robot is controlled by a mobile phone that makes a call to the mobile phone attached to the robot. In the course of a call, if any button is pressed, a tone corresponding to the button pressed is heard at the other end of the call. This tone is called “Dual Tone Multiple-Frequency” (DTMF) tone.
The robot perceives this DTMF tone with the help of the phone stacked on the robot. The received tone is processed by the micro-controller with the help of DTMF decoder.
The micro-controller then transmits the signal to the motor driver to operate the motors & the robot moves accordingly. The working range is as large as the coverage area of the service provider.

Challenges faced during the project:

• Soldering of Audio Jack.
• Identification of suitable mobile phone which is capable of transmitting the received DTMF tone properly to the decoder.

Future Enhancements and Updates:

This robot is a basic prototype for the use of DTMF based applications. It can be further enhanced with the following features or improvised into various applications.
•By interfacing a Robotic hand the robot can be modified for Industrial operations.
•By attaching a camera in front of the Robot it can be used for surveillance purposes.
•A DTMF robot with Human Detecting sensor can be used during Natural disaster to detect people stuck under the debris, etc.
•Password protection can be introduced through an android app, so that only the authorized person will be able to operator the robot.
